Description

Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist

We are seeking a part time Psychiatrist to provide direct services to an adult population including psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, psychopharmacotherapy, and crisis assessment/intervention. The Psychiatrist will attend case conferences for participants; oversee the treatment planning process by the treatment team; monitor and approve treatment plans and concurrent review. 

Location: Bethelem, PA

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations of clients using an approved format. 

  • Prescribe medications for the treatment of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders 

  • Documentation of evaluations in accordance with routine medical practices, state and federal law, insurance company and MCO guidelines, and CARF standards. 

  • Rendering diagnoses of psychiatric disorders for clients when necessary, and documentation of the diagnoses in the client’s record. 

  • Prescribe appropriate medications to NET clients in accordance with current medical practices, monitoring the progress of those clients on medication by occasionally meeting with them to assess their progress with prescribed medications.

  • Preform emergent psychiatric assessments at the request of the Program Director and possibly assist the treatment team in making referrals to other care environments. 

Qualifications


  • Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania License as a Medical Physician with three years’ experience. 

  • Maintain active X-waiver and DEA Registration in order to prescribe buprenorphine 

  • Residency in General Psychiatry. 

  • Board eligible in General Psychiatry.

  • One of the following: Certified in addiction medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM); or, Board certified in addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.; or, have completed a minimum of three years of documented experience in the provision of services to persons who are addicted to alcohol or other drugs, including at least one year of experience in a pharmacotherapy program, treating narcotic addition with a narcotic drug.
